My favourite book
My favourite book is “The Richest Man in Babylon” George S. Clayson. It is practical guide to manage your finance. The book was written in a simple language, and without difficult economic terms, using narratives about the lives of ordinary Babylonians.
Why is it actually my favourite book? Clayson does not talk about wealth, but offers steps that will improve your financial situation. The seven rules: to pay yourself first, to control your expences, to make your gold work for you, to protect it from loss, to avoid risks, to be competent, to live in your own home. They are the major principles that remained today.
The book was written about a century ago, but it is still up to date. Clayson raises such problems as fear of future, the desire for quick riches. “The Richest Man in Babylon” teaches not only how to earn and manage money, but also how to plan your life and to reach success.
In conclusion, “The Richest Man in Babylon” is not just a book about money, it is a book about life building your future based on knowledge of ages. It has chanced my view on money and I am sure that it will change the minds of subsequent readers.
