2. Постановка цели и задачи внеклассного
мероприятия:
Today we’re going to have an unusual lesson. It will look like a competition between two teams and in the end we’ll discover real Masters of English. Everybody should take an active part in our competition, give creative ideas and answer the questions correctly. I will give the teams scores for every task if you answer successfully. If not, you get no scores. The team, with a greater number of scores, will win.
We are going to have a lot of different types of tasks about the time, countries and their capitals, prepositions, a listening exercise on the topic “Pets” to practice your understanding skills.
In the end the winners will get some prizes.
I’d like to wish the competitors: “Good luck”!

II Основная часть. 1. Знакомство.
First of all, I’d like to ask the captains of the teams to stand up, introduce themselves, their teams and state the motto. It is the first task and the total number of scores here is 1.

Let’s remember pets, we can keep at home and they are quite common to keep. Look at the cards and name them.

Give 2 sentences what pet is easy to keep or difficult to keep.

1) It is lovely, cute, small and playful. It loves milk and fish. It loves sleeping on soft and comfortable surface, but it scratches your wallpaper, furniture and other items. (a cat)
2) It guards your house if it’s big and barks loudly to give you a signal that there is a stranger outside your house. They are difficult to keep. (a dog)
Well, now choose one pet and make up three sentences why it’s easy or difficult to keep it.
3) It can be white and red or yellow and orange. It swims in the aquarium and doesn’t need much food. Unfortunately, you can’t speak with it. (a goldfish)
4) This pet comes from a tropical country, Brazil. It is colourful. You can teach this pet how to say your name or some other simple words. It can fly and sing. (a parrot)
5) This pet has got long ears, a short tail and a pink nose. It can jump high and it loves carrots and cabbage. It lives in a cage or in a box. (a rabbit)
6) This pet has got a long thin tail. It lives in the cage and you can’t keep a cat together with it, because it can easily catch it. Some people find it disgusting and unpleasant to touch. (a rat)
